Years later after maturing & coming back to this, I see this performance in a different light. No, it was not badass & the actors didn’t cringe because it was too sexy for them.
The kdrama world is very sophisticated, so much that no woman ever shows up in a dress that is out of the ordinary. Now imagine nicki minaj performing anaconda at the academy. Would it make sense? It doesn’t make sense here either.
Next is her styling. Her butt cheeks were squeezed in and they were wobbling throughout the entire performance. Her dress was tacky & looked very unflattering on her, like it wasn’t a 100% fit. Her hair looked undone & deep fried. The boots looked like bought for 30.000krw at gangnam underground station.
Worst thing is & the reason why everyone looked uncomfortable here, hyolyn performed like she was aware of all of this. She didn’t go all out on the sexy moves & looked uncomfortable, rather than confident.
what really gets me about this is that the MBC song festival was being recorded on the same day and she easily could’ve just performed there and avoided the embarrassment 😭
