  1. The song was overwhelming, a big no for me, but her voice is beautiful; I liked the MV but not the song. Tons of BP song is not listenable without music; it is better to watch the MV to get a better sense of the song. Anyway, congratulations on Jisoo's solo debut! I love her personality; she's sweet and beautiful.

  2. I strongly believe each one of the the blackpink members solos are meant to represent their style and personality. Jennie: it girl and modern, Rosé: very musically talented and pop, Lisa: very dance based and hip style, Jisoo: chic and smooth with a quiet classical beauty to it. This is VERY Jisoo and that is why I love it. The song feels like a real song while a lot of Kpop songs I think is starting to get lost in what they want to be musically due to the trend of experimental music that honestly comes out very disconnected and not put together correctly a lot of the time. From first listen I liked Flower which is becoming more and more rare nowadays when everyone goes “the song grew on me, after I listened to it a few times”. And I do that too, but sometimes I want to listen to a song and know I like it

  3. she actually filmed in LA! and also im so proud of her! and her bside all eyes on me is amazing too! we def will get another perf video or mv for that one. but flower is SO JISOO I LOVE IT!

  4. Controversial statement: I have a fairly strong
notion that the subtext of the video is that rather
than it being an ordinary love story, Jisoo is playing a sex worker, a 'flower girl.' In past centuries in China, Japan and Korea, the title 'sing-song girl' (Chinese:), or 'flower girl,' was a slang term for a courtesan. The yellow building which Jisoo stands outside of, looking in at a set of pearls, was painted that colour specifically for this MV shoot. It strongly suggests the 1996 Korean film 'Yellow House,' which is about a sex worker who struggles with her identity when she is forced to leave the Yellow House brothel of the title. Jisoo is playing the role of someone who is deeply conflicted by her profession, with all the waiting around in hotel rooms and lobbies, avoiding eye contact with maids and elevator operators, plus all the inevitable heartbreak and loneliness. At the same time she is still attracted to the money she makes and the sense of power it brings, as this may be her only alternative to poverty. The tearing off of the choker at the end is a signal of the character taking charge of her independence. She is no one's pet or possession.

PS: This is a description of a role
that actress Jisoo is playing. It is not actually a description of our wonderful Jisoo, the brilliant and talented actor and singer from Blackpink.

  5. It is calm and melodic but that's also why you can listen to it on repeat. It's not working you up to some hype, it just carries you along.

  6. U wann know what i feel bout it. I feel thet she blossomed to be kore than just a solosit at these point not only a great actress singer comedian in her own right but an over all undesputed beauty of her time.
