  20. I'm pleasantly surprised by the way the romance is written in My Country. It is not childish like in many dramas. On the opposite, it comes out as mature and poetic at the same time. As time goes by, every of Hwi and Hee Jae’s encounters displays more heartbreaking melancholy. The love feels real.
    Hwi is not a macho man like you usually see in this kind of stories. He also never interferes with her business. As for Hee Jae, she is longing for him and is not afraid to say it, but ultimately she makes her own decisions. Both lovers are independent minded people, dealing with their own circumstances.
    In this scene, we can feel that for the first time throughout the years, Hwi wants to believe that they can be together. Yang Se Jong’s warm and delicate acting brings depth to every word that Hwi says. We can feel how much he’s suffered and how much he wishes to be happy again one day. Kim Seolhyun is also convincing here, she adds a modern touch to Hee Jae while displaying something noble in her attitude.

    The boy’s only wish was to protect Hwi and Yeon and now he’s left alone and it just breaks my heart

  31. I love this drama💖I just wanna cry on how beautiful and yet sad their love story is in this drama…dont get me started on Hwi's and Yeon Ho's friendship…the plot of this drama was made to make the viewers heartbroken on every characters story😭💖

    Who says there is not big brother watching what you are doing ?
    However, this vid actually gave me goosebumps it was so beautifully done.
    “I won’t keep you waiting, I will come back” almost had Terminator vibes, but with sensuality.

Imagine if he had married Yeon that’s the only plot this drama is missing if she didn’t die 😤😤 there’s no way he was that devoted to her after her death as a sister 😭 even if he was around other women or got everything he wanted would Yeon still be his soulmate or not? & when pple say he realised he always loved her after her death is that ‘family love’ or ‘true love’s?
