15歳で渡米。在米中にゲーム、TV＆劇場版アニメ『AIR』主題歌「鳥の詩」のヴォーカルに起用され、その透明感ある声質と圧倒的な歌唱力から“クリスタルヴォイスの歌姫”と称され高い評価を得る。
2010年、アニメ『Angel Beats!』主題歌「My Soul, Your Beats!」でオリコン初週3位を獲得。同年参加したアルバム「Calling All Dawns」がグラミー賞を受賞。近年はアニメ『メカクシティアクターズ』／ゲーム『ファイナルファンタジーレジェンズ 時空ノ水晶』／ゲーム『Angel Beats! -1st beat-』等の人気作品の主題歌を担当。アニメ『Charlotte』主題歌「Bravely You」はオリコン初週4位、ビルボードジャパンアニメチャートで初週1位を獲得した。

    後半急ぎ足の急展開でビックリしたけど自分的いい作品でした…。

  38. 唯一初めてアニメで泣いたのがAngelBeats。見たのは中学1年生。今から６年前？ クソほど泣いたなぁ😢特に最後のシーンなんて号泣よ…久しぶりにココ最近ずっと毎日AngelBeatsのop ed聴くなぁ！10年以上前のアニメに思えないわ、、しかもAngelBeatsのおかげでLisaを知ったきっかけだし！😊
